How it works

Chiropractic is the key that unlocks the body's ability to heal.

Learn and understand the fundamental concepts of chiropractic.

What causes subluxations

A chiropractic subluxation involves a vertebral segment that is subject to various types of stresses.

Namely physical stress, chemical stress and emotional stress

Physical stresses can be categorized as Macrotrauma and Microtrauma. Major would be an accident like fall or a car crash where the spine is subject to violent forces. Microtrauma would be in the form of poor postural habits and poor ergonomic support contributing to accumulated stress on certain joints.

Chemical stresses mainly derive from the food we eat. Processed food and sugar are the usual suspects that would be detrimental to the body. Unnatural additives and excess sugar intake can elevate the inflammatory response on the body leading to heightened pain and discomfort.

Emotional stresses usually arise due to workplace, family and environmental circumstance. These stresses can alter the body's hormonal regulation and in-turn cause cascading effects to organ function, sleep disruption and even cause reduction in reproductive ability.

To comprehend these 3 stresses would be a step forward to better managing your body in adulthood.

How chiropractic works

Chiropractic utilizes a culmination of science, technology and a chiropractor's keen sense of touch to assess and then deliver the adjustment.

Our chiropractors are trained to deliver adjustment by hand, to ensure the utmost comfort for the patient.

Adjustments are delivered with a quick thrust into the spine to correct the spine. The moment the adjustment is delivered, some joint(s) may or may not produce a sound, little to no pain is usually felt during the process.

The corrected joint will then take some time to get used to the correction. Time to respond to correction will depend on the patient's age and risk factors. The correction will then relieve the pressure on the nerve to allow better nerve function to the muscles and organs.
